Hello! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog:) I absolutely love the blog world and have been blessed immensely by being a part of it!!! I love the Lord and all that He has blessed me with. I am a mother of 2 wonderful teens and wife to a wonderful man. I love reading, crafting, singing, gardening, and decorating. My family is my life and love to spend family time when ever we can whether it's shopping with my daughter, or hanging out with my son:)
I did not originally go to school to be a teacher. This was a late in life career change. I feel truly blessed to have been given the opportunity to go back to school to become a teacher and LOVE what I do:) What a blessing teaching is.....to be able to change lives, new ones each year:)
I love to make things for my classroom and also love sharing ideas with others as well as learning from others:) I hope you can find something you can use on my blog:)
If you ever have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at:

ReplyDeleteHi Tara, I a just wanted to say how wonderful I think your blog is. I am new to blogging, I just set up mine a short time ago. fourthgradefunk.blogspot.com . Anyways, I am like you, became a teacher a bit later in life. This will be my first year teaching, I was hired on as a 4th grade teacher. I really like your vocabulators. I am in the process of making some and am wondering if you could give me a list of words to put in them. I have three themes, a bit different than yours:one has fall colors; has ocean colors; and the last one has black, purple, and white beads. I also added some 'ice' looking beads. I love the idea, but since I have not taught 4th grade yet I am not sure what words would work for the containers. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks so much!

ReplyDeleteHi Tara. I love your site and visit qute often. I am interested in making a duct tape quilt but do not know which book you got the directions from or if it something I can do without it. Please advise me :).
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and am looking around. I am making the switch from first grade to fourth grade... suggestions? I am mostly worried about teaching writing.
ReplyDeleteHey Tara!
ReplyDeleteI am a first year fourth grade teacher! I love your blog! I was just wondering if you had a specific list of things that a 4th grade teacher should purchase and have on hand in her classroom. Things to get before the students arrive! =) Please let me know when you can!
Thanks,
Kia

Love your blog and I get a lot of great ideas from you! I was just wondering tho what font that is on your Made It Monday logo? I have been searching all over for that and can't seem to find it. Thanks for helping me out!
ReplyDeleteHi Tara...I am totally obsessed with your blog. I am new to fourth grade this year and am so overwhelmed with the whole idea that I have yet to prepare. In an effort to please those around me I accepted a part time literacy support/part time grade 4 position and now I am thinking I was out of my mind. Any words of wisdom to calm my nerves?
ReplyDeleteYou are an inspiration to so many. I am a teacher and start school Monday. I teach fourth grade as well and I am going to start reading workshop this year. I work in a school that is very traditional and I will be the only one to venture into this. i followed the Daily 5 blog and have read several books. I am determined, but a bit nervous. How do reading workshop and daily 5 go together? I'm not sure how to start. The students have a week of half days and we have several procedures to go over. Any support will be appreciated.

Hi Tara!
ReplyDeleteI am a 5th grade teacher but I love getting ideas from your blog! You have a great sense of color and have given me some great projects to work on this year! Do you always do a Monday Made It? How do you find the time?!? Best of luck this new school year!

Hi! I was looking at your blog (which I love by the way) and really like the names that the students color in at the beginning of school. I was just wondering how you made them. Any help you could offer would be great. Would love to try this in my classroom this year. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi! I read your blog religiously. I always enjoy what you have to say & how you say it too! Here in Jersey, we start school next week. So I was in my room yesterday & today prepping it for my new group of fabulous fourth graders!! I will be starting the Word Works activities I've seen on your site, introducing concepts from the Daily 5 [my style anyway], & look forward to haning up the welcome back to school pennants that you made. Looking forward to see how that will look hanging up! I love all the colors you chose & using dots & stripes. Thanks & hope your week is going well!! ~Kathy
ReplyDeleteYour blog is fantastic! I found you via Pinterest... I am interested in a copy of the "Reading Strategies Explained for Parents" page I saw on Pinterest.... I can't find it! If you could email it to me... I would be most appreciative! I am doing a parent involvement program this year and your page would be PERFECT!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!

Hi Tara,
ReplyDeleteI've been a long time follower of your blog. It has been so helpful and inspirational to me as a third grade teacher. BUT, I'm moving up in the world and looping to 4th next year. I am so excited! I'm looking to change things up a bit for my kids next year. I wondered if you could give me some pointers on reading homework. In third, I had kids choose their own books from home and complete a reading log that needed to be singed monthly. They also had to do one book project per month. What does reading homework look like for you? I'm considering math rotations next year. You blog post has been super informational. I've been buying up a storm on TpT to kick start the hands on/fact fluency portion. Again, thanks for your support!
